Arrival by car

Owners of a navigation device only need to enter the "Proitzer Mühle" as their destination (here e. B. a link to Google Maps).
If you are coming from the west from Uelzen, take the B 71 towards Salzwedel. About 18 km after Uelzen and about 4 km behind the village of Növenthien, Proitze is signposted at a turn in the middle of the forest. This road ends in the village of Proitze, turn left there and left again at the end of the village, the next farm is the mill.
From the east from Salzwedel take the B 71 in the direction of Uelzen, turn left in the small village of Spithal and then turn the second road to the right, there Göhr and Museum are signposted, follow this road through the next two villages and the third is then the mill.
Drivers beware on the last 20 km there are about 10 lightning columns!

Arrival by train

Destination station is Schnega. There you can be picked up by the taxi and taken to the mill. A trip costs about 20 euros. It is advisable to order the taxi from the company Taxi Kirschbaum – phone 05844-661 – the day before.

Proitzer Mühle

The Seminarhof Proitzer Mühle is a self-managed seminar house in an old, listed water mill. The mill is located in a wonderful, undisturbed secluded location in the hills of the Elbhöhen-Wendland Nature Park - all around only meadows and forests (see here e.B. on Google Maps ).
The Proitzer Mühle offers us several seminar rooms, regional and healthy full catering on all BANJOREE days, accommodation for more than 70 people, parking spaces for motorhomes, ample parking and many beautiful places for spontaneous music making and talking shop inside and outside.

For Banjoree participants who have not got the desired place in the Proitzer Mühle or prefer to have a little more "privacy" in between, there is the possibility to stay in one of the private accommodations in the vicinity of the Proitzer Mühle.
Of course, you must book and pay for the private accommodation directly with the providers.
The contribution you pay for the BANJOREE then refers exclusively to the catering, the use of the seminar rooms and the organization fee. So, if you want to be independent and book a private accommodation, then please register with the BANJOREE as a participant and choose "Own accommodation" (Eigene Unterkunft).

Your contribution to BANJOREE – Give and Take

The BANJOREE is co-designed by all participants. Everyone can get involved: for example in jams, at the evening concerts, with the passing on of experiences, etc. or in the spontaneous exchange of knowledge. Talk to people if you want to learn a tune and be ready to show or teach others.

The name BANJOREE may refer to a specific instrument, but BANJOREE welcomes all instruments used in folk, old-time and bluegrass music - from double bass to harmonica!

The Banjoree is a meeting of musicians and is intended to:

  1. first and foremost fun,
  2. arouse interest in old-time and bluegrass music and
  3. encourage the development of musical skills
  4. give new inputs
  5. offer complementary topics such as e. B. "Instruments, PA, Media, etc."

Beginners and masters of their genre meet in the mutual exchange of songs and melodies, techniques, tricks and experiences. This is done without fees according to the idea of "give and take" - this idea has developed very well over the last few years at Banjoree.
